Introducing Wilson’s Project Shift 99 315! Like the lighter version, this prototype is being offered in limited quantities before its full cosmetic release this summer. Featuring a 99 square inch head and a tight 18×20 string pattern, the Shift 99 315 delivers a controlled, laser-like trajectory on groundies along with great touch at net. It also packs enough mass to comfortably redirect higher levels of pace, with plenty of pop available to those who can leverage its mass. As with the 300g version, this racquet’s graphite fibers have been engineered to help the frame bend in ways that compliment the modern game. Ultimately, the Shift 99 315g not only delivers a comfortable feel with great ball feedback, it also packs enough precision to target the lines. The cool prototype cosmetic makes it a nice collectors item.
Technical Note: According to Wilson, this racquet has been designed to be torsionally stiff (for added stability and power when driving the ball) and laterally flexible (for increased dwell time on vertical mechanics – think spin).
